Google Classroom

Computing Technology

We are a Google School and have been for many years.  We have a large ratio of devices to pupils and they are used as an integral part of many lessons.

In school, we are also fortunate to have access to a wide range of other digital devices such as large interactive touch screen displays in classes, visualisers amongst other things to enhance the learning for our pupils.

Google Classroom

At Scawby Academy, all pupils use and access part of their learning and homework through our Google Chromebook system.  This system is secure and monitored by our IT provider through both Smoothwall and Securely to protect pupils and their data, along with the high levels of security provided by Google themselves.

Pupils have access to Chromebooks in school and regularly use these to support their lessons and develop independent learning skills.  We have strict e-safety rules and policies in place and pupils are taught about e-safety and responsible usage throughout the year as part of their computing curriculum.

Google Classroom is a way of pupils to be set work by their class teacher who can view their work online to provide support and feedback as the children require.  Classroom can also be used for children to work collaboratively on shared documents while working on their own device without the need to share one computer.
