Stepping Stones of Scawby is a Pre-School (term time only), Out of School Club and Holiday Club located on the same site as Scawby Academy.

We aim to provide the highest quality care for each individual child in our setting, we welcome all families into our warm, caring environment where children have endless opportunity to learn, play and explore. 

We believe children and parents are entitled to expect courtesy and prompt, careful attention to their needs and wishes.  Our intention is to work in partnership with parents and the community generally and we welcome suggestions on how to improve our group at any time.

We run under the guidance of St Hybald's Academy and its Board of Directors. The Management Team consists of Mrs Zoe Birchall (Headteacher), Mr Anthony Wells (Deputy Headteacher), Miss Courtney Wilson (Stepping Stones of Scawby Manager).

We have 100% of our workforce level 3 qualified or working towards a higher qualification and all are first aid trained. We believe in developing and training so also offer an apprenticeship to school leavers to gain a level 3 qualification while gaining valuable experience in the setting.

Sessions

In the Pre-School we offer 3 sessions, these are as follows:-         

 Morning session: 9am – 12pm.

 Lunch session: 12pm – 1pm.

 Afternoon session: 1pm – 3:15pm.

The children are more than welcome to stay for 1, 2 or all 3 sessions, dependant on availability.

Throughout their time at Pre-School, we offer a free flow play where children are able to play inside and outside, following their own interests. We also have the opportunity for regular use of the school field.  A rolling snack is provided during the morning session where the children can help themselves to a healthy snack and drink whenever they wish. We also provide a smaller snack during the afternoon. 

We ask for children who attend the Pre-School to bring a change of clothes, outdoor shoes i.e. boots or wellies and ask for all their belongings to be clearly marked/named.  We are very flexible and will adhere to meet the needs that you require, we provide nappy changing facilities and will adopt and support your way in toilet training.

Staff

We have a highly experienced staff team and all regularly attend training to improve the service we provide.
