Learning Beyond the Classroom
Educational Visits
Where appropriate and relevant, we take our pupils to engage in first hand experiences. Recently, we have been to the Humber Bridge, Yorkshire Wildlife Park, Pink Pig, Lincoln Castle and many more.
We also work with our local secondary schools for various opportunities:
- working with their science team in the laboratories
- taking part in drama and theatre activities
- musical performances
Residential Visits
Year 2- Rand Farm
Our younger pupils also get the opportunity to experience a night away with their friends, with an 2 day/ 1 night visit to Rand Farm. They take part in many activities including making their own sausages for their breakfasts.
Our Village
We use our locality as much as possible to support learning. We are fortunate to have superb grounds and wonderful features within our village. We have strong links with our local curch and local businesses including Scawby Hall. Within our local area we have access to several farms that we work in partnership with to provide learning opportunities.
Year 6- Dobroyd
Most years we also offer a weekend residential for pupils in upper KS2 to take part in outdoor and adventurous visits at Dobroyd Castle, including activities such as zip wire. It's a fantastic weekend and something the children talk about for a very long time afterwards
